Namco Bandai Releases Gundam Area Wars In Japan

The Mobile Suit Gundam franchise has long been one of Namco Bandai’s cash cows, and that trend looks to continue with the newly released strategy title Gundam Area Wars on the Japanese Google Play store. Based on the Mobile Suit Gundam anime, Gundam Area Wars is a turn based “tactics” style strategy game reminiscent of the Front Mission series on Playstation consoles. Players will build a party of Gundams to take into battles based on encounters in the hit anime show. As they defeat enemy units, mechs will gain experience and level up to obtain new abilities. Similar to other “tactics” style titles, terrain modifiers and individual units weakness’s heavily influence the outcome of skirmishes.
