Glu Mobile Releases Frontline Commando: D-Day
Glu Mobile’s sequel to their popular free to play 3rd person shooter Frontline Commando has landed on Google Play. Frontline Commando: D-Day is a prequel of sorts that takes the setting back in time to World War II. Players will storm the beaches of Normandy, destroy enemy trenches, and man anti aircraft guns in the new free to play shooter.
Employing largely the same gameplay of its predecessor, Frontline Commando: D-Day is a cover based shooter served up in pint size portions for mobile devices. A heavy emphasis is put on presentation by limiting the movement of the player to a few choice cover positions at any given time. Completing missions and satisfying certain objectives will reward the player with in game currency that can be spent on better weapons.
As with the majority of Glu Mobile’s titles, there is a heavy amount of IAP’s in Frontline Commando: D-Day, though patient gamers can beat the game without paying anything. Despite the second game in Glu’s 3rd person shooter franchise being set in the past, it still feels like a worthy successor to the original Frontline Commando. Frontline Commando: D-Day is free to play on Google Play.
