Playstation Mobile Roundup #1

In the first installment of our Playstation Mobile Roundup series, this weeks Playstation Mobile Store update brings us a unique soccer title, a retro shoot ’em up, a dungeon crawling puzzler, and a tilt based physics game.

While it’s been a while since the Playstation Mobile Store has gotten any worthwhile new games, that trend may be changing now that Sony has cleared up the SDK issue that was preventing new titles from being released.

Passing Time – $2.49

From the developers of Frobisher comes the innovative new sports title Passing Time. Rather than control individual team members, players will coordinate the movements of the team as a whole using a unique touch based control scheme.

MegaBlast – $2.29

This retro style shooter from developer Super Icon features fast paced arcade gameplay and gorgeous Geometry Wars esque visuals. MegaBlast charges players with surviving as long as possible against increasingly difficult waves of enemies.

The Labyrinth – $0.99

Digital versions of the classic tilting marbles boardgame have been around for a long time, so it’s understandable that the initial reaction would be to skip over a game like The Labyrinth. However, its developer Rocking Pocket Games made sure to include features like controller support and inventive level design to make it stand out from similar games.

YU-NAMA: The Puzzle – $2.99

This mobile edition of the No Heroes Allowed! franchise puts players in the shoes of a video game villain. They’ll have to construct devious dungeons filled with monsters to trap any unsuspecting good guys by solving puzzles and scoring combos. Think of it as a reverse 10000000.

All in all a nice selection of games this week.
