Indiegogo Spotlight: Fran Bow
For the past couple of years game developers have been making more and more use of the various crowdfunding sites available to them on the web. Crowd funding is a fantastic way for developers to get their project known, while more importantly bringing them the money they need to get their vision turned into a reality. The upcoming (hopefully!) point-and-click adventure game Fran Bow is one of these games that needs some financial aid, and from what coverage has been posted it looks like it definitely deserving of it. The developer has already created the framework for a game with a unique horror-esque setting with a creepy storyline and a fantastic art design. However, they are going to need some help if their dream is ever to come to fruition, and they will need to reach their goal of $20,000 by August 30th of this year.
Fran’s parents are brutally murdered and the only thing she has left is her cat and aunt Grace who takes care of her. But something happens, her cat vanishes and she is taken to an asylum for mad children. One day the cat appear in her dreams and she starts to plot her escape… During her way back home she will get help from strange creatures and find out that the murder of her parents is unimaginably terrible, and finally confront the one responsible…
- Story driven creepy psychological adventure game
- Blood, soft-gore, mystery and insanity
- Unique graphics, hand drawn 2D art-style and 2D animations.
- Tons of puzzles
- Mini-games inspired by old arcade classics made in Pixel-art
- Many characters to be interactive with
- An interactive pet cat, Mr. Midnight
Fran Bow is one of the best looking games that I have come across on a crowd funding website in a long time. If all goes well with the campaign Fran Bow has an expected release in July of 2014, and will be made available for PC (Windows, Linux, Mac), as well as mobile and tablet (android and iOS). The campaign is only running until August 30, 2013 – so there’s no better time than now to donate a couple of bucks to the developers of this brilliant point-and-click adventure game.
