Ninja Gaiden Style Platformer Shadow Blade Coming Soon
Independent development studio Dead Mage is gearing up for the release of its first ever Android game Shadow Blade, an intense and atmospheric sidescroller that shares the deadly martial arts themes found in classics like Ninja Gaiden and Tenchu. This gory slash ’em up casts players as an elite ninja on an epic quest to rescue the last ninja master and learn his secrets. In order to do that players will have to employ deadly sneak attacks, intense combos, and pitch perfect platforming. You’ll need to be quick on your feet to survive the hidden traps and fearsome enemies hiding throughout each level. One wrong move can lead to your doom, an old school gaming tradition nostalgia hungry fans will appreciate.
Similar to Shinobi, each level is presented from a 2.5D perspective that zooms in and around the action thanks to Shadow Blade’s gorgeous graphics engine. Characters sport fluid animations and look great when the game zooms in on the over the top finishing moves performed by the protagonist Kuru. The gameplay is a healthy mixture of old school platforming and 2D combat, oftentimes feeling like the spiritual successor to the aforementioned Shinobi games.
Look for this slick looking action adventure to launch in the coming months.
