Friday Night Indie Game Round-Up #10

Welcome to the 10th edition of our weekly indie game round-ups. As you’ve seen week and week again there are always a tonne of indie developers releasing fantastic games onto Google Play. This is great, trust me, but so many great games being released it can be a challenge for us at SGD to give each and every one of these games the attention they deserve.

So with this weeks round up we’ve decided to get our readers involved in what content they want us to post. Each week we have added a poll onto the bottom of the Round-Up for you to vote for your favorite games, but this week we’re upping the anty a little bit. From this week forward whichever game gets the most votes for the week will receive its very own full-fledged review by one of our editors here at SGD. This means you, the reader, will now be directly involved in bringing these fantastic indie games that little bit of extra recognition that they deserve.

Now that we’ve got that out of the way… on with this weeks round-up!

A Titan Tale from DreamCloud Games

A Titan Tale is a new game that has just been released by a small indie developer DreamCloud Games, which is actually located in my home town. This game is based around the stories found in Greek mythology; after the Titans have been dethroned the Gods from Mount Olympus begin to conquer all of Greece and the Isles of Akros, but once they get to the city of Achiledos they must stand their ground against the Titans. You will be taking the site of the Gods, and you will be managing the soldiers that you will be sending off to fight the Titans. With help from mighty heroes and the Gods themselves you will battle evil creatures such as Medusa and Cyclops.

CastleMine from Mugshot Games

CastleMine is similar to other tower defense games on the market in that the story has player struggling to stop the inexorable march of the vicious baddies from making their evil procession across the screen. However, that’s where the similarities with the genre end as CastleMine’s unique digging mechanic changes the game, literally. Players will create the entire level as they go along by digging deeper and deeper paths along which to combat the ever looming horde. While these choices may unleash new baddies to deal with, it also affords the opportunity to mine for precious gold and minerals which can be used to upgrade towers and provide support units like magical landmines.
