Vampire Volleyball Gets Spiked Onto Google Play
Retro64 is a two man indie development team that is headed by Mike Boeh and Juraj Molcak. This small team spent a couple of years working at PopCap Games (you may have heard of them for their hit games Bejewelled, Peggle, and Plants vs Zombies), but in 2011 they decided to break off and begin making their own games as indie developers. Retro64 has worked hard over the years to create games that are fun for the whole family, while also giving their games an old-school vibe and a modern day 3D art style. Their previous game release on Google Play was their hit title Rune Raiders, which to this date still stands as one of my absolute favourite Android games. If you haven’t downloaded this gem yet I highly recommend checking it out.
With the Halloween season being just around the corner, the timing for Retro64’s release of their new vampire themed volleyball game Vampire Volleyball couldn’t be better. As you have probably guessed from the game’s title Vampire Volleyball is a volleyball game that is all about vampires and other creepy creatures of the night. In fact a volleyball tournament has just begun, and you now find yourself up against 8 ghoulish characters that are all vying for the coveted Vampire Cup. Each creature has his or her own special abilities that you’ll need to contend with, so it might be a good idea to switch up your strategy a bit if you want to come out on top.
Vampire Volleyball can be played either as a single player game or if you’ve got a friend handy you can even set up 2-player matches via same-device multiplayer. The gameplay itself has been inspired by classic sports games of the 80’s, and you can choose between two different control schemes depending on your skill level. In addition to the fun and addictive gameplay you are treated to the crisp and colourful art style that Retro64 is known for.
- 1 or 2 player action
- 8 unique vampires, each with their own special move
- 3 different heroes, with unique jumps, kicks, and spikes
- Easy single button game play, or full d-pad movement
- Fluid animations and a rocking soundtrack
Retro64’s new wacky volleyball game Vampire Volleyball has arrived on Google Play just in time for the Halloween season. If you’re looking for a treat and you’re not looking to get tricked you should get your hands on Vampire Volleyball today.
