Get Funky In New OUYA Exclusive Rhythm RPG Soul Fjord
I know I may be in the minority when I say this, but I freakin’ love the OUYA. Despite a history of missteps and a few annoying flaws inherent to its design, this inexpensive little Android gaming box has managed to work its way into my heart. As a great man named Han Solo once said, “She may not look like much, but she’s got it where it counts”. While there have been a few notable high profile game releases on the OUYA Discover store, only a handful of those titles could arguably be called system sellers. It seems that the OUYA has finally gotten one such game however as Quantum Conundrum developer Airtight Games’ highly anticipated and wacky music based rogue-like Soul Fjord has boogied its way onto the Discover store.
Soul Fjord is a hilarious new action RPG that fuses together music based gameplay with rogue-like level design. As the recently deceased but not at all phased Magnus Jones it’s up to players to groove their way into the most exclusive club of the afterlife, Valhalla, by giving a beatdown to any trifling fool that stands in the way. Rather than mindlessly mash on the attack button like in so many other rogue-likes, Soul Fjord’s rhythmic hack ‘n slash combat requires concentration and finesse in order to master properly. By matching their attacks with special Guitar Hero button sequences players can unleash an oversized disco balls worth of stylish combos on their enemies as they fight their way into the most happening undead party around.
A beautiful and much needed addition to the OUYA library, Soul Fjord is available now for free with IAP’s on an OUYA near you.
