Mind Bending Marble Adventure Rolo Rolls Onto Android

Ever wonder what would happen if you were to combine Banjo Kazooie, Marble Madness, and Pac-Man all together in one game? Well, if you’re indie developer Volcanic Penguin the answer is the epic new action adventure game Rolo. While there have been plenty of tilt based marble games in the past Rolo delivers a much more grand scale that utilizes one of the most fundamental Android gaming design staples in a variety of clever new ways. Although it’s a little light on story and instructions, leaving players to largely learn the rules of the road through trial and error, Rolo is a fantastic new game that carries hints of some of the Nintendo 64’s greatest platformers.

Players take on the role of spherical raccoon protagonist Rolo as he ventures forth on a perilous journey in search of the one thing that will win the heart of his beloved, a humongous beauty who likes diamonds and jewels far more than poor Rolo. Nevertheless it’s up to players to safely guide Rolo through an imaginatively designed world filled with danger and mind bending riddles at every turn. Traditional arcade style platforming is combined with physics manipulation to great effect resulting in gameplay that’s both a fresh challenge and oddly comforting in its nostalgia.

If you’re a fan of Marble Madness or are just in the mood for a straightforward yet challenging game check out Rolo. It’s available now for $1.00 on Google Play.
