Take To The Waves In New Retro Physics Racer Pixel Boat Rush

From XperimentalZ Games, the indie developer behind such gems as Don’t Run With A Plasma Sword and Platforms Unlimited, comes an ambitious new old school arcade racer called Pixel Boat Rush that fuses together the vehicular combat of Twisted Metal with the physics platforming of Tiny Wings and gives it the nostalgic look of a classic 90’s DOS game. This impressive retro spin on aquatic racers like Wave Runner is easily the studio’s best game yet as it seamlessly emulates the presentation of an old school classic thanks to meticulously balanced gameplay and a wealth of content that would have had the floppy disks of old bursting at the seams.

To get an idea of what Pixel Boat Rush has to offer envision playing Tiny Wings or Time Surfer against 7 other racers at once then throw in grenade launchers, a jaw dropping amount of customization options, and more pixelated boat carnage than you can shake a VGA sound card at. It’s a tantalizing prospect to be sure, one made all the more satisfying thanks to Pixel Boat Rush’s intuitive game design that offers a ton of content and replay value set against a genuinely charming RPG-ish story full of hilarious characters. In addition to the typical death race by sea there are also 6 other unique game types such as demolition and last man standing to keep things fresh.

Pixel Boat Rush is an absolutely terrific genre bending physics game that racing and action fans alike will get a kick out of. You can pick it up now for $2.49 on Google Play.
