Tabletop RPG Paper Dungeons Makes The Leap To Android
After launching on Steam early last year indie developer Agent Mega’s nostalgic homage to tabletop role playing games Paper Dungeons has arrived on Android complete with its extensive PC feature set in tow. This expansive rogue-like brings tabletop adventuring to mobile with a faithful recreation of its dice based gameplay experience and a powerful campaign editor that allows players to download new user created quests for infinite replayability. While its tabletop approach to RPG design has been done before Paper Dungeons easily stands above most of its peers in the genre thanks to a high level of polish and extensive replay value.
In addition to the online campaign editor Paper Dungeons also has 3 separate game modes that each offer something a little different. Boardgame mode offers a traditional fully fleshed out campaign complete with an epic storyline, Rogue mode challenges players with surviving for as long as possible against a never ending horde of monsters, and a really neat puzzle mode remixes the gameplay with unique new twists designed to test your tactical prowess. And if you’re the type of player that’d rather be the dungeon master pulling the strings you can of course go and design your own devious dungeons using the campaign editor then share them online while gloating like an evil villain.
Paper Dungeons is an engrossing new RPG that is sure to be a boon to mobile D&D fanatics who are tired of getting raked over the coals with in app purchases. You can pick it up now for about 3$ on Google Play which is quite the steal considering the PC version costs 15$ on Steam while a free demo version is available as well.
