Retro Physics Platformer Owen’s Odyssey Lands On Android

An addicting new physics platformer called Owen’s Odyssey has arrived and its intuitive but challenging Super Meat Boy meets Flappy Bird style gameplay with a twist gives it a unique feel all to its own. Created by indie developer Brad Erkkila, Owen’s Odyssey is proof positive that flappy style platforming can actually be really awesome in the right developer’s hands. With its highly polished old school inspired game mechanics, endearing retro visuals, and a big but fair difficulty factor Owen’s Odyssey easily stands up with the best of the platforming genre.

In Owen’s Odyssey players will don a magical beany cap and attempt to survive the perilous Castle Pookapick which feels like a nightmare version of Bowser’s castle that’s been remade to terrorize Super Meat Boy. Rather than run and jump through each level however players will instead flap their way to the exit with a really slick looking backflip move available to accentuate their velocity for finer movement. Mastering this intuitive two-button control scheme is the key to surviving in Owen’s Odyssey as players battle it out with massive bosses and find hidden areas filled with loot.

If you’re a fan of platformers you’ll definitely want to check out Owen’s Odyssey. It’s available now for free on Google Play.
