Dive To The Ocean Floor In New Aquatic Tap Em Up Fonky Bubbles
With the exception of Flappy Bird clones there is perhaps no game style more prevalent on mobile markets than the “Pop the bubbles” ‘genre’ so when I first took a gander at indie developer Sweded Games’ frenzied new shoot ’em up hybrid Fonky Bubbles I had to fight back against my gut reaction to immediately dismiss it, hard. However once I sat down with Fonky Bubbles and experienced its surprisingly polished gameplay for myself I had no choice but to begrudgingly admit that this particular bubble popping game has something to offer. And while at its core Fonky Bubbles does still remain a game about tapping on stuff, it also manages to turn that into something interesting rather than monotonous thanks to its intense gameplay and addicting progression system that will push your reflexes to the limit.
By combining aspects of traditional arcade shooters with newer Fruit Ninja esque gameplay mechanics and a dash of aquatic extras Fonky Bubbles keeps things engaging as players frantically try to smash every air bubble they see. In Fonky Bubbles players are trying to reach the ocean floor which is why they need to harvest air bubbles which will allow them to descend further and face even more challenging levels of gameplay. As players get farther and earn achievements they’ll be able to unlock powerful new weapons that provide helpful buffs.
Like Fruit Ninja crossed with Galaga played underwater, Fonky Bubbles combines the best of two genres. You can pick it up now for free on Google Play.
