New Minigolf Platformer Hybrid Frank The Dillo Channels Kirby
An awesome new minigolf-platformer hybrid by the name of Frank The Dillo has rolled on the scene and its oldschool isometric gameplay is sure to inspire heaps of nostalgia in fans of the SNES minigolf classic Kirby’s Dream Course. The brainchild of indie developer Cownado, Frank The Dillo combines minigolf game mechanics with Marble Madness style platforming to create a unique twist between the two where getting to the course hole usually involves leaping off of a ramp over bottomless pits and getting bounced around all over the place by pinball spinners. It’s up to players to help Frank reach the end of each course by strategically shooting him around each isometric level to pick up gems for more shots, avoid falling into traps, and build up enough momentum for him to clear ramps when needed. There’s a decent amount of skill involved and players will need to have a good feel for the terrain their armadillo friend needs to traverse in order to succeed but for those that grew up on Kirby’s Dream Course, Frank The Dillo is a welcome blast from the past. You can pick up Frank The Dillo for about a buck on Google Play.
