Flip Things Around In New Pop-up Book Inspired Puzzler Patanko

A charming new isometric puzzler ode to children’s pop-up books by the name of Patanko recently strolled onto Android with refreshingly thought provoking level design to go alongside its endearing aesthetics. In this 3D puzzler from indie developer Hogekoz it’s up to players to help a tiny ninja reach the end of a storybook he clumsily fell into by flipping the assorted dioramas and moving around objects so that he’s able to cross the page. There is a clever use of perspective at play in Patanko that requires players to flip back and forth between pop-ups in order to truly get a grasp of the quasi MC Escher level layouts. It’s this intellectually stimulating game design coupled with a relaxed atmosphere and art aesthetic that gives Patanko its charm. You can pick it up now for free on Google Play.
