Retro Inspired Auto Platformer I Am Barbarian Leaps Onto Android

The trademark Nintendo theme of rescuing the princess via precision pixel platforming has gotten an endearing new lampoon by the name of I Am Barbarian that takes the tradition to absurd heights with exaggerated old school gameplay. Released by indie developer Orion Interactive, I Am Barbarian puts sidescrolling platformer deathtrap mechanics into overdrive with players having to deal with blood boiling tricks like shifting platforms, kamikaze orcs, and even hostile building materials while they make their daring attempt to rescue the aforementioned princess. While it’s mostly a vaguely Mario-esque auto running platformer I Am Barbarian also throws in some interesting boss battles where players have to face off against the boss and his pet dinosaur. If you’re in the mood for a straightforward retro style platformer be sure to take a look at I Am Barbarian, it’s available now for free on Google Play.
