Retro Physics Platformer JettyCat Towers Gives A Cat A Jetpack

Indie developer Ohsat Games’ charming pixel physics adventure JettyCat Towers is a good example of how retro style platforming can be done on Android. This intensely cheerful vertical scroller doesn’t rely on any conceited gameplay gimmicks meant to differentiate it but instead focuses on honing its straightforward yet challenging cross between Lunar Lander and Super Meat Boy mechanics throughout its oftentimes grueling 30 level campaign. Rather than use any kind of procedural generation JettyCat Towers’ stages have been hand designed which allows them to adopt a much more retro feel due to their gradual but steady ramp up in new kinds of obstacles. While it’s not exactly a magnum opus, JettyCat Towers isn’t pretending to be and is all the better for it. You can pick JettyCat Towers up for free on Google Play.
