Retro Trick Shooter It’s High Noon Blasts Onto Android
Touch screens and light gun style shooters go together like PB & Jelly so it’s surprising that there aren’t more games out there in the grand tradition of classics like Lethal Enforcers. Fortunately one such arcade inspired title dubbed It’s High Noon has arrived to help fill out the ranks with its own brand of rapid fire retro shoot outs. Released by indie developer CKOO30 Games, It’s High Noon is a straightforward but challenging timing based pixel shoot em up that mixes intense shoot outs with a great deal of thematic variety.
As is custom in the genre It’s High Noon draws from players must blast their way through ever more dangerous waves of gun toting bad guys while nabbing the occasional bonus and taking care to avoid hitting any civilians. While it doesn’t stray too far from the light gun shooter formula It’s High Noon provides an enjoyable replica of its cabinet cousins that will put players’ reflexes to the test. Interestingly, rather than have any kind of upgrade based progression system players are instead able to acquire new maps by unlocking a correlating gun with in-game currency. This helps change the scenery from a wild west theme into alternate skins featuring enemies like zombies and pirates.
It’s High Noon is free to download on Android with micro-transactions. It is also available on iOS.
