Sidescrolling Horror Game Distraint Creeps Onto Android
After launching on PC late last year the horror themed adventure game Distraint has arrived on Android in a special pocket friendly edition. The brainchild of indie developer Jesse Makkonen, Distraint is a sidescrolling style puzzle adventure that uses haunting psychological motifs to deliver its spookiness rather than cheap devices like jump scares and loud noises. Players take on the role of a young man who has been given the opportunity of a life time but must first seize the property of an old woman and quickly gets more than he bargained for.
In order to progress through Distraint’s trippy story players must explore the environment and collect items that will aid them in their journey. This Android port of the game retains most of the same experience as its PC cousin save for the lack of a lantern in favor of exclusive lighting effects and an elegant control scheme that doesn’t block any of the onscreen visuals. If you’re up for a short but atmospheric horror adventure game take a look at Distraint.
Distraint is free to download on Google Play. It’s also available on PC via Steam.
