Retro Platformer Pixel Knight Ventures Onto Android
In the grand tradition of tough as nails platforming shoot ’em ups like Ghouls ‘N Ghosts and Megaman comes a challenging new sidescrolling test of skill dubbed Pixel Knight that will push your retro gaming muscles to their limit. Created by indie developer Sagital, Pixel Knight is a no-nonsense precision platformer that casts players as a daring knight on a perilous quest to plunder a monster filled castle. It’s up to players to leap past spike filled pits, dodge deadly deathtraps, and battle with fearsome bosses as they fight their way through this fallen fortress.
Players control their knight using a virtual gamepad setup as they attempt to clear each level by finding a treasure chest that will open the exit while rewarding them with coins strewn along the way. While it doesn’t have any sort of flashy gimmick to set it apart from its genre peers Pixel Knight still stands out by being a well polished ode to classic platformers of the past that favors quality over novelty. As players progress through the game’s stages they’ll be able to upgrade their sword projectile with coins they’ve accumulated for an extra edge against the unwelcoming skeletons and giant spiders of this world. If you’re up for a great console style platformer be sure to give Pixel Knight a go.
Pixel Knight is free to download on Google Play.
