Charming Train Simulator Tiny Rails Chugs Onto Android
The developer behind the action packed RPG Dash Quest has returned with something decidedly more laid back in the form of its new retro inspired train simulator Tiny Rails. This endearing persistent management game from indie developer Tiny Titan Studios puts players in charge of their very own locomotive as they ride the rails around North America picking up passengers and enjoying the scenery. It’s up to players to make their digital grandpa proud as they manage the logistical complexities of carrying cargo, transporting commuters, and modernizing their machinery in a persistent progression system that continues rolling on in real time without the need for direct input from the player.
As much as an aesthetically minded game as it is mechanically oriented, Tiny Rails echos the classic ‘Tycoon’ style games of the 90’s in that it is meant to be a relaxing experience about exercising one’s creativity. Building up income from passenger fare and tips allows players to improve the performance of their locomotive with new parts and augment its capabilities altogether with additional train cars. This style of gameplay is especially well suited for mobile as it allows the player to check progress at their leisure, helping to immerse them in its railway motif. Management sim fans will have a roaring good time with this homage to retro tycoon games.
Tiny Rails is free to download on Android and iOS.
