Spelunking Platformer Osteya: Adventures Leaps Onto Android
After launching on iOS last month the tomb raiding pixel platformer Osteya: Adventures has made the trek over to Google Play. This retro platformer from indie developer MetalBear is chock full of sidescrolling action and whip cracking adventure as players take on the role of a fearless treasure hunter exploring a perilous forgotten city full of riches, wonder, and more than a few deadly creatures eager to introduce themselves. It’s up to players to journey through 30 levels and counting of nostalgic pixel platforming as they grab as much treasure as they can get their hands on without becoming a snack for carnivorous slime creatures.
Players navigate Osteya: Adventures’ underground gauntlets using a virtual gamepad setup that replicates traditional two-button controllers for movement and attacking. While players do have a whip to defend themselves with it’s usually best to try to avoid combat as successfully dealing damage to an enemy without getting hurt oneself requires skillful maneuvering and careful timing. As players jump over spike pits and whip assorted wildlife back to the stone age in their pursuit of the level exit they’ll have the opportunity to pick up bonus treasure along the way with it usually being in some precarious position right behind a trap. Platforming fans will definitely want to check this one out.
Osteya: Adventures is free to download on Android and iOS.
