Phase Shifting Platformer Shake Ninja Leaps Onto Android

A clever new pixel art platformer that uses screen shaking as a central mechanic called Shake Ninja has made its way onto Android devices. Created by indie developer Overdrive, Shake Ninja is a hardcore retro auto-runner where players attempt to survive gauntlets of elemental samurai and sword swinging skeletons by agilely hopping over obstacles and introducing any foes that stand in their way to a swift end. As they make their way through each level players will run into red and blue platforms that switch in and out of existence with each other with a flick of the screen. While replacing something that could be accomplished by an on-screen button with physically shaking one’s device would usually be a gimmicky idea Shake Ninja’s genuinely challenging level design justifies this atypical design choice since players will have their hands full making the rapid-fire gestures needed to survive as it is. Alongside navigating these phase-shifting platforms players will also need to switch colors to defeat an array of different enemy variants like floating samurai and gun-toting samurai. With its intense auto-running gameplay and slick retro style Shake Ninja is a great new platformer worth checking out.

Shake Ninja is free to download on Google Play.
