Classic Shoot ‘Em Up Homage Scrambler Zooms Onto Android

One of the earliest sidescrolling shooters ever made has gotten a robust new native Android adaptation called Scrambler that takes the classic shmup Scramble and retrofits it with touch-screen play in mind. Released by indie developer Chrawfish Interactive, Scrambler is a faithful recreation of the genre-defining Konami shooter that retains the same intense arcade gameplay while sporting its own graphics and difficulty options. Just like in the original game the object of Scrambler is to survive level after level of oncoming enemy ships while blowing up fuel tanks on the ground to gas up one’s own fuel meter and stay in the air. In addition to relative touch controls Scrambler also supports external gamepads for those that want the full old school experience. Retro shoot ’em up fans will want to check out this well-made homage to Scramble.

Scrambler is free to download on Google Play.
