PC Shooter Remaster Shadow Warrior Classic Redux Hits Android

In a nice change of pace a legendary game has been ported to mobile and for once it is Android, not iOS, that gets it first as publisher Devolver Digital has just released an Android port of their 2013 Shadow Warrior remaster Shadow Warrior Classic Redux. This HD overhaul of the controversial PC shooter from developer General Arcade resurrects the original 3D Realms game in all its glory with enhanced visuals, upgraded audio, and both expansion packs to give the total 90’s FPS experience. The Android edition of Shadow Warrior Classic Redux retains all the same features of its PC cousin but adds in a few extra mobile-centric touches like fully customizable touchscreen controls, support for bluetooth controllers, and Google Play achievements.

While some may argue that pseudo-3D first person shooters like Shadow Warrior and Doom are showing their age I have always believed that these stalwarts of the FPS genre are as fun as ever due to their rock solid gameplay mechanics and smart level design. Having spent some time getting reacquainted with this retro gem in its new Android incarnation I can confidently say I still stand by that position.

Shadow Warrior Classic Redux is regularly priced at $2.99 on Google Play but thanks to a special launch discount shooter fans can currently pick this gory blast from the past up for just a dollar.
