Usagi Yojimbo: Way of the Ronin Features An Anthropomorphic Killer Samurai Rabbit
Anyone who’s a fan of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles knows who Usagi Yojimbo is. The ronin rabbit has been the turtles frenemy for a long time now, sometimes aiding Leonardo and the others but most of the time he would just be there to kick some shell. Aside from his adventures with Splinter and the gang, Usagi Yojimbo has had a long and successful graphic novel franchise. He hasn’t, however, had his own game, save for 1988’s Samurai Warrior: The Battles of Usagi Yojimbo on the Commodore 64. Enter Usagi Yojimbo: Way Of The Ronin, a new arcade style beat ’em up game from developer HappyGiant. With beautiful hand drawn character sprites and a story penned by Usagi Yojimbo creator Stan Sakai, Way Of The Ronin looks like it leaped right out of the comics.
Reminiscent of arcade classics like X-Men or even some of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles games, Way Of The Ronin is a satisfying 2D beat ’em up. Though it suffers from some wonky collision detection, it is an overall enjoyable experience for fans of the beat ’em up genre.
- 13 Action Packed Levels
- Over 60 different enemy types & 13 Boss Monsters right from the comics!
- Epic Storyline, approved by Stan Sakai!
- Unlock over a dozen Combos and Special Attacks as you progress through the game!
You can pick up Usagi Yojimbo: Way Of The Ronin for $1.99 on Google Play.
