Get Your Quarters Ready For The 80’s Arcade Throwback ‘RGB Warped’

If you have been longing for a game that goes back to the days of true retro gaming your search is finally over! Solo indie game developer Willem Rosenthal has just made his debut on Google Play with the release of RGB Warped. RGB Warped is a psychedelic throwback to classic arcade games of the 1980’s.

The gameplay in RGB Warped is pretty much as “retro” as you can imagine. Just take a look at the screenshots and trailer below and you will see what I mean. Everything just oozes with 80’s arcade goodness, and it’s clear that Willem Rosenthal really knows a thing or two about this gaming era. He really hit the nail on the head with his accurate recreation of the classic colours, the game design, and the bizarre graphics – but he still puts in his own modernized twist on everything too. Firstly the game’s controls have been modernized for mobile devices, and it uses a unique “invisible” touch control scheme that will be easy to pick up for any mobile gamer.

As you play through the game’s 100 stages you will be gathering collectibles, avoiding enemies, and chaining together the biggest combo you can muster in your attempt to set a new high score. You’re going to have to be able to recognize patterns and balance your speed and precision as you fight your way through the truly bizarre psychedelic world that has obviously been inspired by some of the best arcade games that you would have seen in an 80’s arcade.

  • 100 levels
  • Unlockable game modes, add-ons and ‘game-changers’
  • Intense/challenging arcade gameplay
  • Original music soundtrack (featuring tracks by Niv Bavarsky, Cam Floyd, TEEEL, and M.O.O.N)
  • Arcade and Chapter game modes

RGB Warped is quite possibly the best looking psychedelic retro-arcade romp that you’re going to find on Google Play. This title looks like it jumped straight out of an 80’s arcade machine, but the developers modern touches make it feel like it’s something brand-new. If you’re a fan of retro gaming you really don’t want to pass this one up!
