Classic Arcade Racing Sequel RE-VOLT 2 Roars Onto Android
When the RC centric arcade racer RE-VOLT first arrived on consoles back in the year 2000, it was praised for being an addicting spin on the Micro Machines formula that brought the franchises “little car in a big world” gameplay into the third dimension. Despite achieving commercial success on PC, Dreamcast, N64, and Playstation, and an official announcement from its publisher that one was in the works, a sequel to RE-VOLT never materialized. After nearly a decade of being absent from the gamesphere, RE-VOLT was purchased in 2012 by WeGo Interactive and re-released as an enhanced version for mobile devices. It seems the Korean developer has even more in store for us however as RE-VOLT 2, a highly ambitious follow up to the original that improves on it in nearly every way has arrived on Android.
As with the original RE-VOLT, RE-VOLT 2 features a wide variety of wacky kart style races where tiny remote controlled cars put the pedal to the metal in larger than life scenarios. One moment players will be drifting around corners in the backyard and the next they’ll be catching air with a massive jump over the kitchen sink. The classic modes death battle, time trials, and grand prix return from the original RE-VOLT and are joined by an over the top challenge mode and a soon to be introduced online multiplayer mode.
Sporting better graphics, more interesting gameplay, and tons of new features RE-VOLT 2 is a definite improvement over the original. It’s available now on Google Play as a limited release, so don’t fret if the game doesn’t show up for you as it’s sure to be updated soon.
