Retro Physics Sidescroller Sky Chasers Blasts Onto Android

Having already garnered critical acclaim for its addicting spin on SNES inspired sidescrolling gameplay despite having only been out for a week on iOS indie developer Lucky Kat Studios has now launched its terrific 16-bit platformer Sky Chasers on Android. Having previously been known for games like the Mario-esque Super Bunny World, Sky Chasers represents more of a creative break from tradition for the developer as they’ve supplanted cumbersome virtual d-pad platforming with a much more intuitive Lunar Lander esque double booster setup that allows for a surprising amount of finesse despite needing only two thumbs to play. Players will help a young girl named Max prove her high flying prowess as she jumps into a cardboard box with rockets strapped to it and heads off on a Nintendo style adventure filled with adorably deadly enemies and crazy upgrades like a giant cannon that can be strapped to the bottom of the cardboard box. With its great physics fueled gameplay, nostalgic graphics, and classy tunes fans of old school platformers will definitely want to take a look at Sky Chasers. It’s available now for free on Google Play.
