Retro RPG Shooter Warcher Defenders Journeys Onto Android
A terrific new retro style RPG/shooter hybrid called Warcher Defenders has made its way over to Android after originally launching on iOS earlier this year. The brainchild of Black Tower Enigma developer Ogre Pixel, Warcher Defenders is an extremely well polished castle defense style shooter with charming 8-bit inspired graphics and surprisingly nuanced gameplay for such an action oriented title. It’s up to players to defend the magical equivalent of the Alamo as they face off against hordes of pixelated monsters in this intense retro shooter mashup.
Players are tasked with defending various towers from waves of Castlevania-esque enemies by shooting them down before they can damage either the building or the hero protecting it. In addition to having a selection of 3 different hero types there are also a ton of unlockable upgrades that give players powerful new abilities as they slay more foes over the course of consecutive runs. Couple that with great animation and a catchy chiptune soundtrack and you’ve got yourself a stellar new hybrid shooter to tear into.
Warcher Defenders is currently available on Google Play as a free beta with the official version launching very soon. You can also get it on iOS for a dollar.
