Stirring Retro Point & Click Takume Drifts Onto Android
A thoughtful new mini adventure game with striking atmosphere and emotive storytelling called Takume has made its way onto Android devices. This intriguing short point & click from the developer behind the upcoming action RPG Death Trash takes players on a truncated journey of introspection and redemption as they follow a young woman lost in a dream-like world. It’s up to players to help the titular protagonist make her way through each scene and interact with the strange creatures she meets along the way in search of her sister.
More of a work of interactive fiction than a traditional game, Takume instead focuses on utilizing the inherent sense of wonder afforded by the medium to tell a heartwarming story that will make you think. In order to move about the environment and initiate conversations players need only tap on the thing they’re interested in. There is no challenge to speak of but that isn’t really the point as players are meant to enjoy the pixelated scenery and accompanying plot. Interactive fiction fans will really enjoy Takume’s stylish approach to storytelling.
Takume is available on a ‘pay what you want’ basis for Android, Windows, Mac, and Linux on itch.io.
