Fearless Flatulence Abounds In New Retro Style Platformer Sigi

A wacky new pixel art platformer inspired by retro classics like Ghosts n’ Goblins by the name of Sigi – A Fart For Melusina has arrived on Android in all its toilet humor glory. In this old school style sidescroller from indie developer Sebastian Kostka it’s up to players to rescue a kidnapped mermaid by throwing their sword at hordes of spooky enemies and doing a whole lot of platforming along the way. Much like the genre staples it takes after Sigi features tight arcade style platforming mechanics that will test one’s mettle as they attempt to reach the end of each level without getting impaled on a spike trap or devoured by zombies. As they battle their way across the pixel landscape players will find a variety of different weapon pickups, explore hidden alcoves, and engage in epic battles against giant bosses in their quest to win the hand of Sigi’s one true love. In addition to its great retro graphics Sigi also has support for external gamepads and a catchy chiptune soundtrack by composer Nigel Shields. Fans of old school platformers will want to give this one a gander.

Sigi is available for $1.99 on Android, iOS, and PC. There is also a free ad-supported “NES” edition on Android and iOS that attempts to replicate the 8-bit feel with scanlines and modified graphics.
