Deal Jet Pack Fueled Justice In High Flying New Shooter Slip Gear
Jet Packs are such an inherently awesome idea for a game mechanic it’s a wonder we don’t see more titles utilize these rocket powered incarnations of awesome. Luckily indie developer Inferno Muse Interactive has seen fit to correct this deficit with the release of its new retro style sidescrolling shooter Slip Gear: Jet Pack Wastelands. This platforming sci-fi shoot ’em up emphasizes verticality as players blast their way through hordes of robots and nefarious outlaws intent on stealing their lunch. Players take on the role of a mercenary scavenger fighting for survival in the far flung reaches of space by accomplishing missions for paying clientele and salvaging whatever spare scrap they can find for a few credits.
In order to clear each level players will need to accomplish whatever odd job is called for alongside rummaging through any spare containers along the way so they can acquire enough fire power to neutralize the enemy forces blocking their literal ascension. The jet pack has a very limited range so players will need to approach situations tactically so they don’t get caught between a hail of gun fire and the emptiness of the wastelands. If players have managed to collect enough credits they can find futuristic vending machines scattered around each level that deal in weapons, health, and ammo. Levels are randomly generated which helps to give an added degree of replayability to proceedings. Sidescrolling shooter fans will want to take a gander at this retro style throwback.
Slip Gear is free to download on Google Play.
